PSG Opens New Facility – The Sustainability Hub, Norfolk

Norfolk, May 2025 – Packaged Solutions Group has expanded its operations with the development of a 45,000 sqm site in Wisbech, Norfolk, now serving as the group’s UK headquarters and dedicated The Sustainability Hub. This facility reflects the company’s broader mission: to reduce food waste, cut carbon emissions, and build circular systems for some of the UK’s leading food manufacturers and retailers.

The site brings together the Group’s core divisions—Packaged Organics and Packaged Insight—under one roof. Fully certified to ‘Clean’, GMP+, APHA, and Food Hygiene standards, the Hub supports a range of services, including de-boxing, de-canning, de-bottling, and returns processing. It also accommodates Packaged Organics’ recently launched insect protein operation, which processes large volumes of surplus food into sustainable, high-value products.

In 2025, the facility will expand further with the addition of a Black Soldier Fly (BSF) production unit, designed to process over 10,000 tonnes of organic co-products per year. This development will enhance the Group’s ability to deliver nature-based, circular solutions to the retail, manufacturing, and waste management sectors.

The design of the Hub prioritises sustainability at every level. Solar energy systems and a rainwater harvesting network are being integrated to support the Group’s ambition of achieving net zero operations. The site also functions as the company’s R&D centre, where a team of consultant engineers is developing new biotechniques and telemetry tools to optimise resource use and environmental performance across the food supply chain.

With additional agricultural land and polytunnels on site, the Hub also provides space for testing sustainable production models and expanding future capabilities.

This facility represents more than just increased capacity—it’s a blueprint for the circular economy in action. As the first in a planned network of similar sites across the UK,  The Sustainability Hub demonstrates how innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental responsibility can be integrated into one scalable model.
