NACHSHONIM, Israel – February 2025 – As part of our mission to transform food surplus into high-value, sustainable resources, Packaged Organics is proud to announce a strategic partnership with FreezeM, a global leader in Black Soldier Fly (BSF) breeding technologies. Through this collaboration, Packaged Organics will integrate FreezeM’s PauseM® Breeding-as-a-Service solution into its modular BSF rearing operations, driving efficiency, scale, and sustainability across insect farming initiatives in the UK.
After extensive pilot trials and field validation, PauseM®—FreezeM’s proprietary product containing suspended BSF neonates with a 14-day shelf life—was selected for its operational simplicity, consistent quality, and seamless integration into Packaged Organics’ rearing systems. The use of PauseM® eliminates the need for in-house breeding and ensures a scalable, high-performance insect farming process that aligns with our expansion goals.
Initially, PauseM® will be supplied from FreezeM’s cutting-edge facility in Germany, supporting our transition from pilot operations to large-scale deployment.
Accelerating the Circular Economy with Modular Insect Bioconversion
At Packaged Organics, we’ve engineered a modular, mobile BSF rearing and processing solution that enables rapid deployment near organic co-product sources. These modular farms are designed to convert surplus edible food co-products into sustainable insect protein, oil, and frass—supporting both environmental performance and economic returns.
In 2025, we launch our first BSF production site at our new facility, The Sustainability Hub in Norfolk, with the capacity to treat over 10,000 tonnes of organic surplus annually. By the end of 2026, our roadmap includes six operating sites across the UK, collectively processing more than 100,000 tonnes per year of food manufacturing co-products.
The integration of FreezeM’s breeding technology supports this rapid scale-up, offering a ready-to-use, high-quality BSF input that streamlines production and enhances yield predictability.
